Dr. Aaron Patzwahl, MD and his wife volunteer with love.

My wife and I were blessed to be able to volunteer as physicians at Hermana Josefina Serrano Hospital in Cuzco for two months. For my wife, who also visited in 2014 as a medical student she was impressed by the current facilities and growth the hospital has experienced in the last 9 years.

Being able to treat the whole human person (body and soul) is a unique gift that this hospital offers to its patients and its medical providers. It is impressive how much good the generosity of donors can accomplish. The medical work accomplished in Cuzco, Acopia and Oropesa fills a vital gap in the healthcare system ranging from primary care, to surgery, to long term convalescent care.

We found that the need for evangelization was just as great as the need for medical care and the Hermana Josefina Hospital is a center for healing souls and bodies. Just as Christ forgave the sins of the paralytic before commanding him to pick up his mat and walk, care rendered in this Catholic hospital treats ailments that transcend our earthly life.

Dr. Aaron Patzwahl and wife: we want to thank you and may God bless you.
