In a heartwarming act of solidarity and generosity, students from the Cristo Rey Institute in Cusco, Peru, collected more than 500 toys as part of a holiday campaign to bring joy to children in rural communities.
Over the past few days, the students visited the villages of Acopía, Coyorpujio, and Occopata, where they distributed the toys to local children. The kids welcomed the gifts with smiles and excitement, making the effort truly worthwhile. These communities, located in remote and underserved areas, often face significant challenges, which makes initiatives like this especially impactful.
The project was organized by the students with support from teachers and parents, who emphasized the importance of teaching values such as empathy and social responsibility. “We want to show that, together, we can make a real difference in people’s lives,” said one of the students involved in the campaign.
This inspiring effort demonstrates how collective action can create meaningful change and bring hope to those who need it most. Cristo Rey Institute continues to foster a sense of community and encourages its students to be agents of positive change in society.
